Job Description

A Custodian oversees the cleaning and building maintenance and is responsible for scheduling, planning, and reacting to cleaning duties.

In addition, assist with emergencies, and coordinate with contractors and tenants regarding maintenance issues.

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Providing excellent customer service with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to tenants, and customers.
  • Washing windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting touchpoints, washrooms, and fixtures.
  • Emptying trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Watering and tending plants, lawns and/or gardens.
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, dry and wet mopping, scrubbing and waxing hallways, floors, and stairs.
  • Collecting and disposing of tenant’s refuse.
  • Recycling.
  • Snow removal and salting as preventative maintenance.
  • Wiping and/or dusting architectural features.
  • Painting or prepping areas or maintaining seasonal décor.
  • Understanding the importance of safety in the workplace and following all health and safety procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as required.

Qualifications & Experience (preferred)

  • 1-2 years of cleaning related experience is considered an asset.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings
  • Clear criminal record check.
  • Capability to meet the role’s medium physical demand level – lifting and/or carrying seldom 26 – 50 pounds.

 Salary

 $22-$24 per hour based on experience
