We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join our team, based out of the Charlottetown, PEI office at 20 Great George Street. The ideal candidate will share our core values of honesty, professionalism, proactivity, and a strong desire for continuous growth.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and perform various account reconciliations
- Record monthly bank entries and complete bank reconciliations
- Post and reconcile monthly rent and prepare A/R reports
- Prepare monthly revenue and expense reports
- Assist with yearly budgeting across commercial properties
- Complete annual common area maintenance reconciliations
- Calculate and remit HST for multiple entities
- Monitor property tax bills, and ensure timely payment
- Respond to external inquiries related to property taxes
- Monitor and process tenant billbacks (monthly, annually, or as required)
- Input and update financial & lease data for new and existing tenants
- Communicate with residential and commercial tenants regarding financial matters
- Maintain accurate ERP data entry
- Support team members and assist with projects as assigned
Education, Experience & Skills
- Previous accounting experience considered an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Positive, collaborative attitude
