This week’s 52 Weeks of Giving in Memory of Wayne Gray is supporting the Red Cross with a gift of $10,000. Our donation is designated for PEI Emergency Management. It will directly help individuals on the Island during times of crisis and support the remarkable efforts of our local emergency volunteers.
When someone in PEI faces a personal emergency, such as a house or apartment fire, the Canadian Red Cross steps in immediately. They provide essential items like hygiene kits, financial support, and shelter, along with comfort and psychological first aid to help people navigate those challenging times.
In larger emergencies, such as hurricanes or community evacuations, they coordinate shelters, deliver aid, and collaborate closely with local authorities to address urgent needs. The gift from The Gray Group will ensure that they are prepared to respond effectively, whether it involves helping one family or hundreds affected by emergencies in PEI.
This gift empowers the Red Cross volunteers and staff to do what they do best: show up for their neighbors when it matters most.
